Drumcroy Caravan Park

Accommodation Gatehouse of Fleet, Castle Douglas

Drumcroy Caravan Park is the kind of small, family-run site that is increasingly precious in Scotland – unhurried, genuinely dog-friendly, and excellently positioned for exploring one of the most attractive corners of Galloway. The park sits on the edge of Gatehouse of Fleet, a picture-postcard small town that rewards a gentle wander at any time of year.

The Site

Drumcroy offers touring pitches with electric hook-up and a small number of seasonal static caravans for hire. The facilities are clean and well-maintained without being over-developed, and the site retains the quiet, unpressured atmosphere that touring caravanners and campers appreciate. Fleet Forest begins almost immediately beyond the park perimeter, giving dogs and owners a natural woodland escape.

Dog Policy

Dogs are welcome on all pitches at no extra charge, with no stated limit on numbers – an unusually generous policy that reflects the site’s genuinely welcoming approach. Dogs must be kept on leads on the site itself and must not be left unattended.

Gatehouse of Fleet and Fleet Forest

Gatehouse of Fleet is a well-preserved Georgian planned town with a good range of independent shops, the excellent Murray Arms Hotel, and the Mill on the Fleet visitor centre. Fleet Forest offers excellent waymarked dog walks ranging from short riverside strolls to longer forest circuits, all beginning a few minutes’ walk from the park.
