Castle Cary House B&B

Accommodation Creetown, Newton Stewart

Castle Cary House is a proper dog-friendly B&B in the best sense – not just tolerating dogs, but actively welcoming them with a large private garden, dog bowls, and drying towels as standard. It is the kind of place where you arrive as a guest and leave feeling like a regular.

Creetown and the Surrounding Area

Creetown is a small village on the eastern shore of Wigtown Bay, best known for the Gem Rock Museum and its position as a gateway to both Galloway Forest Park and the Solway coast. The village sits at a point where forest, hill, and coast all come within easy reach, making it an excellent base for varied days out with a dog.

Dog Policy

Dogs are welcome in all rooms at a charge of £10 per dog per stay – not per night, which represents excellent value for longer breaks. A maximum of two dogs per room applies. The large private garden provides off-lead space, and dogs are welcome in the guest lounge.

Breakfast and Hospitality

Home-cooked breakfasts using local produce are a highlight of a stay at Castle Cary House. The hosts have an encyclopaedic knowledge of local walking routes and are delighted to share recommendations for dog-friendly days out in the area.
